Inflammation or infection of the lining of the nose is termed rhinitis.

The common causes of Rhinitis are allergy and viral infections. Occasionally bacterial infections may occur secondarily.

The symptoms are similar to that of a common cold – sneezing, runny nose, nasal blockage, irritation, mild fever.
Treatment is medical by way of nasal washing, anti allergics and decongestants.
